This sidescroller looked promising, but ended up a bit disappointing for me.
Although Strange Brigade has adequate gameplay, which is improved if you play with others, the developers seemed to focus more on gimmicks and selling DLC than developing a worthwhile campaign.
Although intended to be a party game, there’s not much that would maintain a group’s interest for very long. It’s possible to play alone against the AI, but there is even less reason to play this game by yourself.

Although there are other vehicles, such as walking mechs you can control, I think of Armored Evolution as a sci-fi tank game. The RPG elements help give you something to work towards, but a lack of story or objectives undoes this benefit.
Using enemies to serve as both your shield and spear makes for an interesting gameplay mechanic. However, the need for grinding, as well as the time needed to get into later areas, winds up harming much of the fun factor.
Silk Roads: Caravan Kings is a trading/travelling game set along the late 1200s Silk Road. It’s mechanically uninteresting, but it can provide an atmospheric distraction for a couple of hours.
