Rhythm Edition

Another Nintendo Direct has dropped with no announcement to alert anybody beforehand. Well, here are the games that were showcased in this Partner Showcase:

  • Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory
You’ll be able to embark on a musical journey through the Kingdom Hearts universe where each stage is themed after locations from series. Of course, you’ll have to match the rhythm to surpass your high scores, but there are some twists here. There looks like there will be at least three different stage varieties, one where you’ll be running on a track hitting enemies (which represent the beats) and use special abilities, Memory Dive where you’ll be soaring above the track and hit notes, and lastly Boss Battles where you’ll be running around a boss and hitting notes to attack them. Once stages are cleared, you’ll be able to watch cinematics from past games (test run for KH switch ports maybe?). There will, of course, be a VS mode for online/local and an exclusive Free-for-All for up to 8 local players. It also looks like this will unsurprisingly be important in the overall story as a new chapter will be included. This will be available to play on November 13, but you can pre-purchase this now.
  • Fuser
From the creators of Rock Band, Switch users will be able to collaboratively mix music with your friends on various stages. This will be coming soon sometime this Fall.
  • Taiko No Tatsujin: Rhythmic Adventure Pack
Featuring two games from the Taiko No Tatsujin series, you’ll be able to join Don-chan in two RPG adventures by travelling through time or saving the world from strange incidents. These games feature rhythm battles where you’ll be chaining combos with taiko drums, recruit monsters to create a formidable party, and will include a put rhythm mode with over 130 songs. Look out for this one later this year.
  • World of Tanks Blitz
Cute rhythm ga-TAAANKS. Available now, you’ll be able to pilot 350+ unique historically accurate vehicles and fight other plays in this free-to-play multiplayer game.
  • Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions
Experience an underdog story where you’ll be honing your skills through training montages and rising through the ranks until you become the boxing champion in a full-featured story mode. In addition to the story mode, there will also be a free play mode where you’ll be able to play boxing legends from the Rocky and Creed franchises and local multiplayer to see who’s the best between you and your friends. This will be arriving next year.
  • Collection of SaGa Final Fantasy Legend
Originally released on the GameBoy, the first three titles in the SaGa Final Fantasy Legend series are going to be bundled and brought to the Switch. Helpful features, like high-speed mode, and a special anniversary song have been included. You’ll be able to play this on December 15 and you can pre-purchase it starting today.
  • Just Dance 2021
Surprisingly not releasing for the Wii, but for every other console including Google Stadia, this new yearly title will feature 40 new songs to dance to and is said to have an improved World Dance Tour where you’ll be able to challenge other players from around the world during tournaments. Get ready to dance along on November 12.
  • Puyo Puyo Tetris 2
Puyo Puyo Tetris is returning with a sequel that will include all of the modes from the previous game, but will introduce Skill Battle Mode where skills and strategies can be used to turn the tide of battle, a brand new Adventure Mode, and an expanded Online Mode where up to four players can race against each other. Fans will be able to pick this one up on December 8.
  • Minecraft Dungeons Creeping Winter DLC
Brave new missions and take down relentess mobs, fight the frost, and discover new weapons, armor, and artifacts on your journey to defeat the Wretched Wraith. You’ll be able to pick up this DLC in September.
  • Jump Force Deluxe Edition
Choose from 50+ powerful manga heroes (including those from Characters Pass 1) to fight a dangerous threat and save humanity. You’ll be able to fight in various modes, including an exclusive local tag team mode, on August 28.
  • Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions
Defy the rules of soccer as you execute powerful moves to gain the advantage, customize characters, build your dream team, and compete in online and local play in this arcade soccer game. You’ll be ready to play this on August 28.
  • FF Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition
A grand adventure awaits you in this remastered co-op action RPG. Featuring new high-level dungeons and weapons, upgraded graphics, and more, you’ll be able to team up online with friends or other players in a matchmaking system to battle foes and discover new adventures. You’ll be able to pick this up on August 27.

There is another Partner Direct coming up, but it’s up in the air whether or not it’ll be a shadow drop like this one or will have the date announced beforehand.
