The thursday update really elevated this game!
Even though the gameplay is fairly repetitive, switching from parkour, brawling, looting, and sneaking around is versatile enough to maintain the game’s core content. Because the story sure doesn’t carry it.
A first look at the latest Hexen
It’d probably have been difficult to program this game amongst the openness of space, but the level design is a significant limitation on what could have been possible otherwise.
The second Homefront chapter tries an open-world approach, only with partial success. Solid gunplay, excellent visuals and engaging combat are the highlights, however everything else proves to be just decent at the best of times.
Call Of Pripyat is the last and overall best entry in the series, that refines gameplay mechanics to a shine, and doesn’t surpass the first one only story-wise. An excellent conclusion to a legendary series.
