Overclocking World Record Broken

Last month, AMD earned a Guinness World Record for highest CPU clocking speed ever recorded when it used its new 8-core FX CPU to reach speeds of 8.429GHz. Now, according to TechPowerUp.com, an overclocker named Andre Yang has trumped AMD’s record, reaching 8.461GHz.

Yang used the same chipset used by AMD and used only two of the eight available cores. It is unknown whether or not Guinness will honor his feat.
